Hmmm. This is not what I've been led to expect from a Red Birds fan, at least from what I've read in the Boston papers. It, unfortunately, sounds more like what I'd expect from far too many local Red Sox fans. BTW, I'm neither.
Be that as it may... 8 post season wins in a row? Wow. Is that a record?
In Boston, at least, there'll be the victory parade, probably on Friday. I'm not sure it's something to look forward to. Boston (and its police) were able to handle 1.5 million Patriots fans jammed into City Hall Plaza downtown last February after a three or so mile parade from the Back Bay area. They don't seem to think they'll be able to handle three times that amount of well lubricated Red Sox fans, so they're proposing a length of the city parade instead, hoping to diffuse the crowds over a much longer parade route.
Maybe it'll work, and no more will be killed or sent to hospitals for wounds from their "less than lethal" riot control weaponry (air guns shooting pepper spray filled pellets). And maybe the worst fans will take the public advice of various Sox players and start acting like champions instead of losers.
Ann O., hoping only for peaceful gridlock in Boston.
I knew you were gonna be happy! I am very happy, myself. :) Now, if the Cubbies could win and also the Braves win again, then I would be even more happy.
