Seen in many, but taken from the adorable [livejournal.com profile] vixyish

1 - Go to Wikipedia's "random article" link. The first random article you get is the name of your band.
2 - Go to Random quotations. The last four words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
3 - Go to flickr's "explore the last seven days". Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover. (I cropped mine to be proper album dimensions.)

I'm actually rather pleased by this one:

I've done this a number of times (never saved any of them) -- but it has ALWAYS turned out reasonable.

Heh, if I found that in a 2nd hand CD store, I'd ask to listen in. If not too expensive I might even buy it as a blind trial. :)

I am amazed at how well this meme works. When I tried the meme a few months ago, my result was convincing, though it didn't look like an album I'd listen to.

You know, I'm tempted to try this meme, and follow it with a Helium Composer challenge asking for song titles.

I had a (too) sexy picture (to be posted), with a rather (suggestive) album title "To please the storekeeper". And (oh no!) the band name "Severn River (Maryland)".

But a fun game, generally.

My album

"London Gliding Club" is a great band name!

I'd preview that one.

And that one just screams "classic protest music."

I tried this one about four times before getting one even remotely acceptable: "Root of Much Humour", by Psalter Lane; cover illustration here.
