Date: 2004-03-16 05:40 pm (UTC)40. Airport (1970) - because it was OMG funny! Esp the co-pilot.
58. Finding Nemo (2003) - cute *and* schmalzee. With fish. And good one liners. Pixar; what more do you need?
73. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) - Early Jack Nicholsen and Danny DeVito. One of my top favorite "movies about psych patients". The book is creepier. I recommend the book, too.
77. Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) - Robin Williams as a crossdresser. Part of his "finding himself" period as an actor (boo, hiss), but certainly the cream of the crop of his movies of that era (yay, w00t).
86. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) - IMO, better than the first one.
94. Saving Private Ryan (1998) - pretty dark, and lots of people die, so definatley be in the mood for a Full Metal Jacket kind of night; Tom Hanks puts in a seriously good bit of acting
Those would be my suggestions. I also recall that in their day, Jaws, The Exorcist, American Graffitti, The Bell's of St Mary's, and Towering Inferno were also quite good, tho I haven't seen any of them recently enough to recommend any of them. *hugs* -H...

Date: 2004-03-16 07:21 pm (UTC)P.S.- I've seen lots of memes like this and I'm just curious, how does one highlight lines in a long list like this? I know it's gotta be some HTML code thingie, but I don't know how.

Date: 2004-03-16 07:34 pm (UTC)If you want to bold several lines in a row, you can cheat by putting the <b> at the start of the first line and the </b> at the end of the last line in the series you want to bolden.

Date: 2004-03-16 08:10 pm (UTC)I've seen all of these but "Finding Nemo." (Most of the pre-1960 ones on TV, courtesy of the late-night movies that used to be a staple of almost every channel that didn't air The Tonight Show when I was growing up and in college).
You should see The Sixth Sense. Wonderful film, especially if you haven't read enough about it to be spoiled.
